Pre-Term Labor

Well, hubby and I just spent the last 5 hours in L&D with a bout of pre-term labor. When I finally decided to call the MD on call, my contractions were 3-5 minutes apart and enough to make me feel uncomfortable. I was no longer able to sleep...
When we got there, of course I had to pee in a cup--only a small amount of protein--and they hooked me up to the monitors. I was still having contractions every 3-5 minutes so they hooked up some fluids and gave me a shot of terbutaline. That crap makes your heart race and your hands shake. It's like speed or something! Ugh...I didn't like that at all! After the 1st dose, she checked me and I was 1cm, 70%, -2...not quite what we were hoping to hear!
So I rested for another couple hours and continued to have a few contractions here and there. The doctor came in to see me around 6:30am and she checked me...1cm, 75%, -1...again, not what we were hoping for! She ordered another fluid bolus and some more terbutaline and then a shot in the ass of betamethasone--for lung development incase this baby decides to show up early! I have to go back in the morning for a second dose of steroids...
So...the story ends like this...pelvic rest, modified bedrest, lots of fluids, and behave! Hopefully no more contractions...
Fortunately, she gave me the okay to go to my baby shower's today and tomorrow...but I have to stay sitting down and not do anything stupid!

32w appt

Yesterdays appt went really well! Dr. Boes said she's very pleased with my weight gain--I thought it was 14lbs, but it's 16lbs (only up 1lb since last month!!) My BP is awesome still, no protein in my urine...although she is concerned about the swelling in my right foot, ankle, calf. Infact, she asked me 3 times, are you sure you didn't break that leg ever lol. Nope, no fractures here! :-) Baby's head is still down and resting on my cervix making sitting standing and laying EXTREMELY uncomfortable. She assured me that the pressure and contractions I'm having now are normal and not to wory...so I'm not. I trust her. I go back in 2 weeks and then the lovely internals start...so we'll see if there's any progress being made--gosh I hope so! I'm ready to meet this child that keeps it's feets in my ribs :-)

Shower Pictures

These are the awesome rattle cupcakes that my mom and cousin made! They spent 2 days baking a decorating each and every one of these! They even had some with little chocolates on top that they made! They were a HUGE hit! Everyone enjoyed eating these yummy treats!

My friend Tonya took this VERY unflattering picture of my pregnant belly at the shower...but there it is. That dress is actually really cute and super comfy and I'm excited to be able to wear it for my other showers since NO ONE will be duplicated except for my mom--and who cares about that lol :-)

I don't remember what my mom said to me here but I couldn't stop laughing...She's the best mom ever...I love you tons Mom!

Excuse the expression on my face...This is a beautiful blanket that a woman I don't even know made for LO. She goes to the senior center with my grandma and wanted to make this for us...how sweet is that? Grandma also made us the most amazing mint green crocheted blanket for the baby....it's beautiful! I'm sure our baby will carry it around until it falls apart!

This gift made me cry...it was from my mom. With the humidifier she bought us (along with all the other stuff that she's already given us lol) she included two sweaters that my Aunt made for me when I was born. Needless to say I cried :-)

I hated candid pictures b/c I always have the "perfect" expression on my face to show how totally dorky I am! This was from Maggie and Chris--she's a HUGE colts fan and he's a HUGE browns fan--so of course our baby has to sport both teams :-) They also got us a "bumpo" (just for you Maggie) and some other awesome stuff! I'm so glad you could fly in for the shower Maggie--that meant the world to me!

And the BIGGEST surprise of all--the combi stroller from my brother who lives 9 hours away!! I had NO IDEA he had bought this for us and had it shipped to my parents house! I cried again when I read his card...so sweet! I love you brudder!

And this post wouldn't be complete without a picture of my cankles and sausage toes from the end of the day...I guess that's what being on your feet all day in 96 degree weather will do to ya when you're pregnant! So here they are for all to see...and btw, I painted my toes all by myself :-) YES, I can still see and reach my feet!!

Baby Shower #1

What an amazing day yesterday was! Aside from the 96 degree weather...it was just an incredible day!

My mom, cousin, and Grams threw us the most wonderful baby shower! The food was awesome...and so was the punch mom made...Raspberry Lemonade punch! She was feeling empathetic to my craving for raspberry lemonade she said!

There was about 12-14 people there...and I seriously can not believe all of the wonderful gifts they brought for us!! I was completely overwhelmed with joy! We have the most generous friends and family. I told David last night--if we bring home 1/2 this amount from the other two showers, I'm going to die!! We just felt soo loved. I hope this little one knows how incredibly loved he/she is already!

I'm going to upload pictures right now...complete with a picture of my cankles and sausage toes from the end of the night! Oh yeah, did I tell ya? My bestest Maggie was here this weekend and her rockin' hubby fixed my computer!!!!!! YAY! :-) So now I can upload pictures MUCH more easily and SO much faster!

I can't believe it...

I honestly can not believe how quickly this pregnancy has flown by! It feels like just yesterday that I got that positive pregnancy test and went screaming into the kitchen waving it in hubby's face!
In other news--I passed my GTT with flying colors, my h/h has stayed the same (which is good), and my TSH was normal. I do have my energy back so I'm starting to think those few weeks where I felt crappy were just from dehydration and lack of sleep!
My first baby shower is on Sunday and I am SOO excited...#1 for the shower but #2 because MAGGIE is coming in for it!!!! I haven't seen her since what like November or something. It was before Dave's surgery and before my BFP...maybe even Octoberish. YAY! :-)
