Monday marked my official release from bedrest! WHOOT! I have been a nesting queen since then--let me tell you! I have more food in my freezer than I know what to do with--luckily it will be nice and easy and convenient for when baby is finally here.
So far my freezer stash looks like this:
8lbs of taco meat--in 2lb containers
2 large containers of chili
1 pan of Manicotti
10 Marinaded chicken breasts (in packages of 2, vacuum sealed)
4 "Plain" chicken breasts (for breading at a later time)
1 large container of Minestrone Soup
1 large round rump roast--cooked and frozen in gravy (Thanks Mom!!)
4lbs of pulled pork
4lb pork tenderloin--marinaded
1 meatloaf--uncooked
2lbs of browned gr. beef (probably to throw in spaghetti sauce at some point)
Cabbage rolls (those are still in the crockpot so I'm not sure how many containers I'll have)
Several containers of homemade spaghetti sauce
This of course doesn't include the two frozen whole roasting chickens I have in the freezer, along with another package of chicken breasts, and package of frozen chicken pieces, numerous roasts, steaks, and more frozen gr. beef...I think we're set on food :-)
So now onto my update....
I spent 3 hours in L&D Friday afternoon because I was having painful contractions that were every 5 minutes. My doctor met us up there and said she thought this was it--but my damn cervix was still only 1cm after 3 hours of monitoring, so she sent us home :( I was so disappointed that I actually cried. So Sunday night/Monday started operation eviction...and I started walking like crazy to try and get baby out. I have continued to have contractions pretty regularly since Friday, and they are getting stronger but nothing too exciting. At my appt yesterday she checked me and I was 2-2.5cm, 85%, 0-+1 so we're headed in the right direction. She said she anticipates a baby by the weekend....which is probably true because I start back to work Saturday night and I'm anticipating that 12 hours on my feet putting me in labor if I don't go before then!
How far along? 37 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: up 19lbs
Maternity clothes? Everything is getting small--I have 2 pairs of pants and like 3 shirts that I can wear.
Sleep: I have no energy but I can't sleep because I can't get comfortable!
Best moment this week: Getting the nursery DONE! Everything is put away and ready for baby!
Movement: All the time! I have feet in my right ribs, a butt between my ribs, and a shoulder in my left hip.
Food cravings: Salsa and Chips :-)
Gender: This kid is definitely a boy, I just know it--We'll see soon enough I guess :-)
Labor Signs: 2-2.5cm, 85%, +1
Belly Button in or out? Well the top half is out and the bottom half is in...quite sexy I must say
What I miss: Being able to move and do stuff with ease and comfort
What I am looking forward to: Getting this kid out :-)
Weekly Wisdom: Nesting will make you feel better--don't fight it, go with it
Milestones: 37w's, dilating further, and getting to go back to work :-)

36w and appt update
So I just got back from the Doctor's office...Still on bedrest!!! BOOOO! BUT she said everything is looking great. At this point, if I go into labor, she will not stop it. I'm not sure it was a good idea to tell me that though, because now I'm going to want to do more around the house because I know we're out of the "danger zone." I'm still 1cm which she said is ONLY because I'm on bedrest--she would have expected more if I was up and moving a lot. I'm now 80-85% effaced--which she said will allow me to dilate quicker and easier at this point. And the head is now at +1 which is pretty darn low...no wonder I'm peeing every 10 minutes! So all and all it was a great visit!
How far along? 36 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: up 17lbs
Maternity clothes? yep
Sleep: I just can't stay comfortable anymore...it stinks...and peeing every 2 hours is getting OLD
Best moment this week: Nursery is painted, carpets need 1 more steam clean and then we can move in furniture!!
Movement: It's funny how movement changes from hard kicks to just kind of a shifting movement...accompanied by punches to the bladder and cervix...
Food cravings: Lemonade and Watermelon and salsa and chips
Gender: This kid is definitely a boy, I just know it--We'll see soon enough I guess :-)
Labor Signs: 1cm, 80-85%, +1--won't be long now she says
Belly Button in or out? Well the top half is out and the bottom half is in...quite sexy I must say
What I miss: Bending over and being able to get out of bed easily
What I am looking forward to: giving birth :-) and going back to work
Weekly Wisdom: Enjoy these last few uncomfortable weeks of pregnancy...you'll miss it when it's gone
Milestones: Um...I don't know, I'm hungry, I need to eat lol

35 weeks and an appt
So I had my 35w appt yesterday and it went pretty well! I'd been up ALL night the night before having contractions but decided just to wait until my appointment instead of going to L&D. Luckily, there were no cervical changes to report--so that's a good thing. On another good note--my GBS swab was NEGATIVE!!!!! YAY! :-) This makes me very happy because I'm allergic to most of the antibiotics that are "safe" to take during pregnancy! On a slightly concerning note--my BP was slightly elevated so hopefully that will correct itself by next Wednesday's visit. Otherwise, all is well around these parts!
My daddy got the baby's room all painted last night :-) It looks fantastic! We have to wait for the paint smell to go away before we can start putting stuff in there...so maybe by this weekend! I will definitely post pictures once we get everything loaded in the room :-) EEK!
How far along? 35 weeks

Belly Button in or out? Well the top half is out and the bottom half is in...quite sexy I must say
What I miss: The freedom I had before I was on bedrest...I just want to clean clean clean, but I can't can't can't :(
What I am looking forward to: Getting the baby's room all set up--hopefully this weekend!
Weekly Wisdom: Do what the doctor says...
Milestones: 35/35...only 35 days til the due date--HOLY COW where did the time go?

Dr. Appt and 34w
So I had my Dr. Appt yesterday....and I just started to cry when she came in the room. I was so scared and relieved and just in a whirlwind of emotions. She assured me that if the baby was born RIGHT NOW he or she would be in the special care nursery for a week or two but it wouldn't be anything serious b/c I've already gotten then betamethasone shots for the lung development.
We talked at length about work and what I should do about my schedule and she assured me that I could go back 2 8hr shifts a week on non-consecutive days but no more than that. Luckily when I talked to my boss this morning, she said she'd rather me just take 2 weeks off and come back to work at 36w so we don't have to worry about delivering any babies in the ICU while I'm working! So it looks like bedrest and lots of water for the next two weeks...and then I'm allowed to resume all activities. Originally I was supposed to have my next appt at 36w but she decided yesterday that I need to start coming every week now...just incase. They are keeping a close eye on my cervix b/c the head is already so low. She said when most women come into the hospital in labor the head is barely at this point...kinda scary. So we're praying for an uneventful 2 weeks!
How far along? 34 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: lost 1lb...so a total of 15lbs gained so far
Maternity clothes? yep
Sleep: Stinks--I can't stay asleep for more than 2 hours and then I have to pee...
Best moment this week: Hearing the HB and knowing that so far everything is OK in there
Movement: All the time but very very low!
Food cravings: Still on a Lemonade kick...
Gender: This kid is definitely a boy, I just know it
Labor Signs: Been in preterm labor twice now and had 3 terbutiline shots to stop it. I'm dilated 1cm, 75%, and -1 to 0 station already...BR until 36w booo

What I miss: Being able to move comfortably
What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery painted this weekend :-)
Weekly Wisdom: Drink lots of water :-)
Milestones: We got both doses of the lung development shots so if this baby comes sooner than 36w we should be all in the clear!

32w appt
Yesterdays appt went really well! Dr. Boes said she's very pleased with my weight gain--I thought it was 14lbs, but it's 16lbs (only up 1lb since last month!!) My BP is awesome still, no protein in my urine...although she is concerned about the swelling in my right foot, ankle, calf. Infact, she asked me 3 times, are you sure you didn't break that leg ever lol. Nope, no fractures here! :-) Baby's head is still down and resting on my cervix making sitting standing and laying EXTREMELY uncomfortable. She assured me that the pressure and contractions I'm having now are normal and not to wory...so I'm not. I trust her. I go back in 2 weeks and then the lovely internals start...so we'll see if there's any progress being made--gosh I hope so! I'm ready to meet this child that keeps it's feets in my ribs :-)

I can't believe it...
I honestly can not believe how quickly this pregnancy has flown by! It feels like just yesterday that I got that positive pregnancy test and went screaming into the kitchen waving it in hubby's face!
In other news--I passed my GTT with flying colors, my h/h has stayed the same (which is good), and my TSH was normal. I do have my energy back so I'm starting to think those few weeks where I felt crappy were just from dehydration and lack of sleep!
My first baby shower is on Sunday and I am SOO excited...#1 for the shower but #2 because MAGGIE is coming in for it!!!! I haven't seen her since what like November or something. It was before Dave's surgery and before my BFP...maybe even Octoberish. YAY! :-)

Sleep: Sleeping sucks--my hips hurt sooo bad that I can hardly turn over in bed anymore. And I can't lay on my back anymore because it makes me queezy
Best moment this week: Painting my toenails!
Movement: All the time! LO likes to dance around during staff meetings and put the focus on my belly
Food cravings: Garlic and Herb laughing cow cheese on triscuits and Rasp Lemonade with crushed up raspberries in it...YUMMMMMY!
Gender: I have no damn clue at this point!
Labor Signs: I had one terribly painful contraction the other night at the grocery store but otherwise, just BH
Belly Button in or out? In but it appears to be trying to pop out
What I miss: Being able to get comfortable!
What I am looking forward to: My baby shower on Sunday!!!
Weekly Wisdom: Take naps as often as you can--once LO is born, you won't be taking them when you want to!
Milestones: Making it to 30w :-)

Glucose testing
Let me start by saying--EW GROSS! I had my glucose tolerance test yesterday...for anyone who doesn't know what that is, they give you a bottle of 50% dextrose solution to drink in 5 minutes (mine was orange flavored) and an hour later they draw bloodwork to see how your body reacts to the sugar buzz. If it comes back abnormal, then you have to schedule a 3-hour test...I'm guessing since it's 1:00pm and I haven't heard anything that I passed with no problems!
Yesterday's appt was interesting because the baby's HR was the highest it's ever been 155...could have been from the crazy sugar stuff I had to drink though. I'll be anxious to see what it is next month just for comparison. I'm still measuring big--and actually the baby's head is very low and "in position" according to my OB. Of course that doesn't mean it can't flip around and such, but she said he/she is very very low. That must be what all the lower pelvic pressure I'm feeling is. Talk about uncomfortable--and it's only going to get worse! She also told me yesterday that she'd be surprised if I made it to my due date...she's betting the first week of October will be D-day! So we'll see...we'll just have to make sure baby central is all set up and ready to go nice and early--just in case! Otherwise all is well. Nothing new or big to report. I'm hoping to get another ultrasound tonight at work...one of the girls told me to come see her around 28w so she could play with the 3D/4D...so hopefully we're not busy tonight and I can go see her! I can't wait to post those pictures!
Oh, and I only have one more monthly appt left (in August) and then I start every two weeks through September...EEEK! This really is coming quickly!
How far along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up about 12 lbs total.
Maternity clothes? yep
Sleep: I'm exhausted & wish I could sleep 12 hours per day, plus a nap.
Best moment this week: Passing the glucose test!!
Movement: All the time--and I love the feet in my ribs lol j/k
Food cravings: Anything with garlic
Gender: I've said boy all along--and this week I started thinking girl....who knows at this point

What I am looking forward to: My baby shower in two weeks :-)
Weekly Wisdom: The best advice I got this week from someone was, "After the baby is born, make a point of showering and getting dressed EVERYDAY because you WILL feel much better about yourself!" And remember, "babies are allowed to cry."
Milestones: Passing the glucose test--and we should be about 2.5lbs by now :-) Super exciting!

Hello 3rd Trimester!
Well I've finally made it to the 3rd trimester. HOLY COW--only 13w until my due date! Where did all this time go? I'm serious...where did it go? 1st tri dragged on forever...and now I blink and 2nd tri is OVER. Scary!
All and all I feel good--lots of BH contractions and still lots of movement. I'm still exhausted though and looking forward to my appointment on the 23rd to get my thyroid levels checked and my iron checked. I'm anticipating my synthroid dose increasing and being put on an iron supplement twice a day instead of only once.
The invitations are out for my showers--I got them in the mail yesterday--and I'm soo excited! I can't believe that in a month we will be bringing home "stuff" to help us take care of baby Yost! EEK! I guess I need to get moving on this nursery...
In other news, I am applying for a new job today. It makes me sad to think of leaving my perfect weekender position on nightshift with all my girlies...but this job is why I went into nursing in the first place and I can't pass up the opportunity. The only difficult thing is, it's a Monday-Friday 8a-5p no weekends, no holidays job...that means if I get this job Baby will have to go to daycare or have a nanny during the week until we get home from work. That bothers me...I stayed on night shift weekends because that would allow me to be home during the week with our baby. Now what? Why did this opportunity become available now? I've been praying a lot about it and I don't seem to be getting any answers...at least not yet. And I know that just because I interview doesn't mean I'm going to get the job...but I need to have a game plan inplace just in case. *sigh*
How far along? 27w
Total weight gain/loss: +10lbs
Maternity clothes? absolutely
Stretch marks? None that weren't there before lol
Sleep: Sleeping stinks, I can't get comfortable at all
Best moment this week: Probably Dave feeling and seeing the baby completely flip around in my belly...I see and feel it all the time, but he just witnessed it a few days ago!
Movement: Constantly!
Food cravings: Fruit and OJ
Gender: Still don't know--but I say boy
Labor Signs: Just Braxton Hicks
Belly Button in or out? In but definitely getting smaller lol
What I miss: Being able to bend over comfortably
What I am looking forward to: My baby showers in a couple weeks!
Wisdom: If you ask nicely, your husband will take you to the store at 11pm to get OJ and a watermelon...but if you are bitchy about it...he won't.
Milestones: 3rd tri!
